Trommel classifier or rotary classifier
« on: February 05, 2013, 12:09:43 PM »
This is a small little weight (15lb) trommel clasifier that I have been working on this winter.
It's not done yet but I thought I would see if anyone had any suggestion for it.

I like it! The auger system is great. Rig up a feed chute that feeds the material to the back, and you should be good to go. For speed control, I would get a little PWM (pulse width modulation) speed control, rather than a variable resistor. The PWM won't chance burning up the motor from low voltage, and will give nearly full torque, even at low speeds. They are available on Ebay for about 15 bucks.

Did some more work on my Trommel this weekend, so I thought I would make another little vid and show everyone. I put the spray bar on, did the wiring and hooked up the speed control

Looks like it works good, even at that water flow. I would guess it just depends on the clay content, and/or feedrate when determining how much water pressure you need. Looking forward to seeing the vids of use at the river....Thanks for the update.
