A tile wet saw shoulf cut that easy in a sizes you need diamond blade for that and should get great cuts with that Ray

I have a nice tile saw and you wouldn't be able to cut anything bigger the 13" square with it. 12" blade and larger rolling deck underneath it.
I would just screw down a stiff board across the top (screws past the edges of the slate) and run my worm drive skill saw down the straight edge with a diamond blade in the saw.
Slate is pretty soft so you don't need water as it would just make a mess. Just go slow as to not over heat the blade and if you see the diamond zone of the blade glowing red then slow down!
A respirator would be required though!

7 1/4" diamond blades are about $30... you could use a spray bottle or pressurized sprayer if you really wanted to ;)
