Do you mean Whonnock as in east Maple Ridge? If so, I did find an old mine shaft and evidence of mining up Kanaka creek on a hike one time years ago but haven't researched and mining activities in this area. Frankly, I never thought there was real mining in this area.

According to MTO that mine up Kanaka creek was/is quite rich MINFILE Mineral Inventory

"Sorted ore is reported, in 1925, to have graded up to 2650 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 14713, page 4)."

Raygar, would you be willing to disclose its location? I've been exploring the mining history of the area for some time. Thanks!
