Glad to have found this site, so mony nice people and loads of information. One thing I've been searching information about is the whonnock mine, has anyone heard of it and if so does anyone know the where abouts?

Do you mean Whonnock as in east Maple Ridge? If so, I did find an old mine shaft and evidence of mining up Kanaka creek on a hike one time years ago but haven't researched and mining activities in this area. Frankly, I never thought there was real mining in this area.

According to MTO that mine up Kanaka creek was/is quite rich MINFILE Mineral Inventory

"Sorted ore is reported, in 1925, to have graded up to 2650 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 14713, page 4)."
