Hello all!

I'm also in Kelowna and just picked up some starting gear from fred. I got a blue bowl, a couple of classifiers and a pan. I went out for my first time 2 days ago and found so many flakes that it looks like someone spilled a big jar of glitter in the creek! No nuggets though  <-NO_>
I guess it's not bad for a first time out but I think there is probably still better out there...

Would anyone care to join me next time? Shovelling, classifying and bluebowling is a pain in the ass for just one guy!

Let me know!

Where abouts did you find your flakes? I'll likely try out Mission creek tomorrow, in the Gallagher's canyon area. I found a video about the history of Mission creek, seems that that's where most of the gold was found.
Finally some sunshine!!!

hey well i happen to live about 2 hours out of Kelowna but i happen to know a thing or two and thought id throw in my 2 cents... Okay so bear creek isn't suppose to be all that hot because of the gold mostly being fine. But the best pay ground should be found above the falls.. As for mission creek the best ground was found approximately 7 miles from its mouth and thereon up to the canyon which has led to speculation that an ancient high channel lies to the north-west. hope this helps as it doesn't really help me !  <_miner_> happy gold hunting !
just dig it !

Hahahahahaha!Bear creek is SSSOOO underestimated it's insane! :P
I pull BIG flakes out of there on a constant basis! lol.
Above the falls, below the falls, makes no difference!

New to this forum as well.  Live In West Kelowna.

Are some of the feeder creeks into bear creek worth a look?  Notice a few outside the park towards Lamblay lake that look accessible.

There's an FSR road that goes up behind the park past the dirtbike tracks.... hard as  {-censored-} to get to the creek though...

Are you talking about Lambly Creek Road? Seems like the most logical one to take.

I am planning a trip out to Kelowna in August. I wouldn't mind meeting up with some of the forum members that live in the area to go and do some panning and share stories and perhaps a wobbly pop or two.... :D

so hows' the panning on mission creek going?
I live up highway 33 next to mission creek.
I am looking at building a sluice for my new hobby, but due to the silly gov restrictions, i'm holding off on it.
