Here are some Indian beads that I found near Atikokan, Ontario, at a place called French Lake. Some have a red colour but hard to see in the picture.....sorry lighting. Also are some very sharp rock chips. A piece of bone neatly cut at both ends, and a small piece of pottery...I had a bigger piece, but it got smashed!!  Shock  Cry I also had an arrow head, but it has magically dissapeared from my collection.  Thinking

I have a few collections, but this is by far the oldest.

I would love to see other peoples collections, and where they found them at!!

After doing a referance with a museum at Quiteco National Park Museum. These artifacts are probably around 2000 years old, made by the Blackduck Indians. Pretty cool!!!

They are pretty cool! Did the museum confirm they were beads? The reason i ask is because i have seen very similar objects reffered to as "weights" used on netting to catch birds and other small animals.

Thanks for your input Ora, very interesting!! Actually what we brought to the museum, were some pieces of pottery found in the exact area. That is what they confirmed for me. The beads or weights, we just assumed were beads and probably from the same time as they came from the same spot. You can read a bit more about my pieces of pottery in the treasure tales section of the forums.

So you might be right, and it would make sense that they could be weights, being I found them on the shore of the beach one year when the water was really low. I might have to do some research on these pieces now.  Thinking
