That would be 10 grams per tonne = about 1/3 of an ounce per tonne = 9.09 grams per ton (for the US folks) = .29 of an ounce per ton

the formula to use for down and dirty converstion is:
1 ppm = one gram in one tonne of sample
A tonne = 2200 pounds = 1000 kilos
so a fast one on the calculator is:

ppm divided by 2200 x 2000 = grams per ton
grams divided by 31.1 = troy ounces
What the heck - lets just keep mixin' stuff together till it blows up or smells REALLY bad!

A walk through some measurement systems:

A metric ton (tonne) is about 2200 lbs. It is 1000 kilograms, and therefore 1 million grams. Love the metric system, as it makes things so easy.

If you have aggregate that tests 10 ppm, then there are 10 grams per ton. Not bad.

Cheers

EDIT, GMS posted his just as I did mine...
Naps are wasted on toddlers, only an adult can appreciate them. Looking for mine now.

Another way of looking at it is there's 1,000,000g (1 million) in a tonne so 10 ppm (parts per million) is 10g
Gold is where you find it

Was this the assayed value of this sandy loam?
If so do you know what form the gold is in? is it free flakes of gold or still locked in the sand and loam?
What the heck - lets just keep mixin' stuff together till it blows up or smells REALLY bad!

Nice find.  One gram per tonne is great!  10 is to good to be true in my world.   Estamating gold at $40.00 per gram and 10grams per tonne that is $400.00 per tonne.  I have a very small system and run a load every 5-6 minutes.  $4000.00 per hour, I'd be OK with that. {cool^sign}

How many bank yards are there?  Wheres the nearest water source?  How much water is available?  Is there enough room for ponds?   Is there clay in the matrix of the product?(What kind of washplant do you have?)

Once the product is washed I think a jig system may be the recovery system to consider.  If it is in sand, it is probably small and could be flat.  So low velocity recovery is what I would consider.

Just thought I would put my 2 bits in. lol

Look up the word "eluvium".  Farncombe Hill's BRIARPATCH is quite noteworthy.

here is a great Link to an online conversion table, this will do everything for you, just input the value and measurement and the conversion desired and it will do the math for ya.

Units converter for dimensionless

I use it all the time
