Yale Rec Panning Site?
« on: July 09, 2009, 09:02:11 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone knows exactly where the Yale Rec Panning area is?

I've heard about it for eons now, and I've ... looked at maps, but it obviously doesn't mark exactly where people pan for gold there? Could someone by chance show me on a google map or something where it is? Or just... give me the best directions possible?

Maybe what exit to take going East Bound on #1 Hwy, or something to that affect?

I "REALLY" want to find this place, and give it a try!

I gave up on trying to mapquest it on my phone on the way out there and just resorted to fiddling around in the Vedder... not even sure I was allowed (eep). I found a little flour gold though ...

Any help would be awesome!

Orrr if anyone knows of another good place to go that's closer to me? I'm in Surrey (no wise-cracks lol)

Cheers =)

Print the pdf from the link, locate the coordinates in Google Earth, get on your bad motor-scooter and ride! (obscure music reference just for old farts)

Thanks... I figured out it's the same exit you would take in order to get to hells gate. Exit #170 ...

Hi there  drove by there 2 weeks ago the river was still high but some ground was workable

The reserve is the length of the whole town of Yale  (just so you don't get wandering off the reserve)  :)

access is super easy there's parking right there with paths along the river.  Good luck

stop at the store that was mentioned their friendly and helpful and have some gear ifn you need it

I like the snuffer bottles they have there
The tube is smaller than the garrett bottles sold every where else

TimHortinAddict, while you're digging and panning why don't you plug in some Montrose, you'll find out what Two Alpha was talking about in a real hurry!  lol ;D

Here are the latest pics from Yale. I took them on July 8, 2014, and the river dropped another foot over night. No guarantees it will stay that way  <-laugh->

I was through there July 1 and stopped for a pan. The water was up in the tree roots, so everything was covered. I filled up a pan with sand at the water line and found flakes. Little flyspecks, but there it was.
And then i left my frickin pan beside the river!
