Possibly not considered by many, but the seasons do play a significant role where placer gold, platinum and silver seeks out their elusive hiding spots.  By example, float gold - - which doesn’t stop as a creek or river ices over, thus altering the course and transport or such transient bodies.  And the same course-changes, logically, would denote where water currents would alter from the norm, bringing about out-of-the-way resting place for nuggets.

Other point-of-view and considerations welcomed.

You are absolutely right about seasonal changes! It is amazing to me that so few people work benches in many areas. They can be very productive.
