Homemade Sluices
« on: January 26, 2008, 12:19:12 PM »
This has always been a hot topic and of interest by all.  What have you built, used, your level of results and, your recommendations?
Somebody said that it couldn't be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That maybe it couldn't but he wouldn't be one
Who'd say so until he had tried.

Here is a project that I am working on. Im planning on using it on the Saskatchewan River. It still has a lot of modifications that have to be done before its ready.

Nice build Ron I had a few pics of the sluice I made last year and in the middle of Fabricating another high banker no pics as of yet cuz its just a pile of fittings and Sheet steel  LOL  I went to good ole Princess auto and bought there sheet metal hand break works great and couldnt resist picking up a nice little wire feed welder while I was at it (LOL  The wife is still giving me grief on that one) Just started a new job as a machinist so all the little bits are comming together for the sluice making I also do alot of gold huinting down at the north Sask and altho Devon is good and lots of colour Im finding twice as much up By Genisee Power plant Just gotta dig down a foot or two .   Hope to hook up someday down at the river  Trade ideas I'll know who you are cuz I just need to look for that highbanker of yours  LOL

Have fun  Dave {cool^sign}

 {cool^sign}Your high banker looks sweet.I been collecting construction garbage this winter(so much waste its sad).I been experimenting with 4" pvc pipe and 4" weeping tile to build sluices.Since all the material is free dont have any thing to lose (lol maybe some gold if it dosnt work right.I have also been collecting wood from packing crates to build a old school rocker box.Hopefully I can get some pictures of my ideas on for some pro-opions.
