Prince George newcomer
« on: August 19, 2019, 09:11:49 AM »
Hello folks,

Finally got around to setting up an account here. As the title says, I'm Prince George based, but split my time between there and the Yukon.

I work in hard-rock mineral exploration, and like to putt around trying for placer gold when I'm in camp or at home. Figured it's time I finally lock down a claim near home and get slightly more serious about it, though we'll see.

Looks like a few other PG'rs on here too eh?

Hey Xplore, thanks for the welcome.

Definitely got a few stories. The past few years I've been working on a gold property in the Yukon, with historic and current placer operations in either side of our camp. So it's excellent opportunity after work to get out for some hand panning.
Already walking up to -2 and iced puddles in front of the tent though, gettin chilly dipping the hands in the creek. Getting some good results though.

Hey thanks DoftheNorth.

Yyyyep, seems a rite of passage to get in a season or two on the willow, so I may as well get it goin. Gonna see what the access is like off the willow north FSR I'm thinkin.

And that sounds great! Would be sweet to tag along one of these times. Especially with high stakes goals like that!! Best of luck fellas, hopefully there'll be some good pics after the weekend.
I'm headed back up the Yukon for now, but fingers crossed for some good pans up there too.
