Cayoosh Creek gold
« on: July 03, 2019, 06:43:07 PM »
Here's the gold I got at a friend's claim this past weekend at Cayoosh.

Definitely worked hard for it as the water is still quite high.

Nice haul for a day's work Dan.

Looks like you have a couple of pickers there.

Thanks Top Cat, Suave and PGGG.

Can't wait to go back to that hole we dug when the water is 5 feet lower in September and dig down an additional 3-4 feet below the clay layer!

Hey Dan,
Just a quick tip. Spent many years on the Cayoosh and never found gold below the clay layer. The clay layer runs from about 1 1/2 feet down to about 8 feet down on the banks. The clay acts as a barrier, and the gold does not penetrate it. Instead, try digging down to the clay layer and follow it. You should do quite well!

Regards.

Beautiful gold and great picture of the pan.
That creek has a great name.  It just rolls of the tongue.
Good luck on your next trip.
