A couple days at he claim...
« on: June 27, 2019, 08:07:36 AM »
Spent a few days camped out at (well....near) the claim this week, thought I'd share some pics and vids as promised. Sorry for the crappy quality, it's an old camera.

This is my home-made set-up. Going to re-do the grizzly/drop zone this week, need a steeper angle and longer drop out area. The AM Alaskan Flair sluice was a surprise find at Surplus Herbies of all places??? I attached a piece of plexi to close off the top end, the stand is made out of 1" PVC. I have since added an Le' Trap  Bank Robber( a $50 score on FB marketplace) following the AM to catch whatever it lets get through, which isn't much.

This is the pay=streak Ive been chasing, accidentally veered off course but only for a day......or 2.  :-[ I haven't cleaned up my cons yet, busy busy, but when I do I'll post the results here. Gotta get, or make, one of them Miller Tables...

This..........well all I can say here is every day the water gets a little lower and I get a little closer to finding out what treasures it holds, I'm thinking by mid-late August I should be able to damn near walk out to it!!!!
One thing I found out, without question 4 x 10 hr days washing rocks makes for a very very sore me........

Hey mcbain, 2 were short videos like less than 30 sec and 1 picture, making pics smaller is easy, vids not so much. Oh well, I guess they're for my eyes only... lol.  Next time out i'll take a couple pics of my rig and shrink them.

Hi.D.Great pics but you do not need 1/2 of that stuff.Looks like you are using a A M sluice at the top of your set up.But you are running too flat, need more angle. Both the Angus and the letrap work well on their own when set up proper. and the losses are not worth the hazzle of running the 2 together. What happens in a case like this is yes you get some gold but you are retaining about 10 times the black sand that you should. The riffles will pack up with black and the gold can ride over the top. Thus making a clean up a nightmare.Try running just one box.give it a 3-4 inch drop and use your safety tub to play safe.Save that black sand and play with it over the winter.I think you will be surprised and you will not need a miller table.School of hard knocks luck,Mcbain.
