<-good_> <-good_> afternoon elgreba. great pics looks really neat and please dont take this the wrong way. if you want to take your pics to the next level. get ahold of finch add ask him about the stacking software he got earlier. it allows him to focus on the whole depth of an object instead of just one plane. it takes a wow pic to a wowie pic. very interesting set of pics and thanks a bunch for sharing.   {cool^sign} <-yes_> {-applause-} {-applause-}   jerry

say i see you have a falcon md20. how has it worked out for you? i got one late this summer but havnt had a chance to wring it out yet. just curious. thanks again.   jerry

Hi juu907 !

Thanks for the tips, thatīs sounds intressting!  :) About the falcon md 20.. Works fine! Great tool to find black sand line and mineralz.. And even gold.. If they are big enough! Dosent work for microgold. Only minus i can come up with.. Easily damaged! So be gentle with it.  [!!DANCE!!]

I think I will answer here a post you had on a different thread (about what to do in the winter).  You asked what software I use with my microscope.  Aside from the standard software that came with the USB camera and does some pretty nifty things, I use an Image Stacking program called CombineZP.  It allows me to take a series of photos at different focal points on an object and then digitally combine them into one photo with all the parts in focus at once.  The program is freeware and can be located at:

Installation and Maintenance

Here are a couple of pictures of pyrite on a dark black substrate.  I got this in the Purcell Mountains just west of the Columbia River valley in BC.  The first picture is one focal point.  I took a series of 14 individual pictures at 14 different focus points on the particle and stacked them to get the second picture.
