Attrition scrubber for placer operations

Hi everyone, It's been a while!
Hey does anyone know of any placer mining developments using attrition scrubbers in heavy clay operations instead of trommel/scrubbers ?
I see that material need to be screen down to 1 - 3 mm or so for traditional attrition scrubbers.  Is there a known design that takes larges sizing( 2 - 4 inch rock ) - this is assuming the ground is at 10% rock (soft mudstone, 90% < 1" ) up to 4", 60% hard-pack clay and 30% sand?

An attrition scrubber uses opposed pitched impellers to accelerate the particles at each other to break-up bound clay. Some will handle particles up to 1/2 inch. For larger particle size a log washer may be used. -3" is nominal for a log washer but some handle up to -6"

I appreciate the the help! The ground on our claim is detrital, a glacier 1000 feet thick sat on the deposit for around 10,000 years, causing significant clay and rock compaction - hence the need for a  heavy scrubbing action.
Do you know why one would use a scrubber over a log washer?  Are log washers less in water consumption?  I am not finding much on comparisons.
