What a pleasure!
« on: March 30, 2019, 05:00:15 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am very new to this community, but I would like to say that I have never felt more welcome on a online forum. My 9 year old daughter and I just recently took up panning as a hobby and since doing so I have reached out to this community for a little help and guidance. I must say that the responses I have received since my initial post have been very encouraging and supportive.  I have even had the pleasure of meeting (in person) some amazing and very generous people through this page. Thank you to all of you for making this a educational, inspirational & fun experience for my family and I.

I can't wait to get to know more of you, and again,

Thank you!

Hi MD,

It's nice that you have your family involved in this great hobby.

There is a family event held each year at Boston Bar, hosted by Yukon Dan. It's a gold panning championship.

The competitions are geared for novices, families and Pros and best of all Kids (mini miners).  Lots of prizes and It's reasonably priced..

Google Yukon Dan in the classroom for dates and Free panning at Yale usually Thur/Fri before the weekend of events. Dan is there and shows various methods of getting the gold in the pan.

Having fun with the family is the best... Good Luck!!!

What a nice commentary.
I agree that there are some really good people on this forum and experts who freely share their experience.
