I can tell you this from experience.....I been there more than a few times....first trip ,took a taxi in Port Aux Basques (we had too many adult beverages to drive) ..we needed to pick up some supplies(more adult beverages),well guess what? Soon as we told the taxi driver(he owned the Taxi company) we wasn't from Newfoundland, not only did he give us a tour around for a good 1 hr as we chated up a storm..he didn't want any money!invited to his house for dinner..and he offered a place for FREE at his house to stay...total strangers..... crazy kind genuine people.
