Unstaked Claims on MTO
« on: November 29, 2018, 10:57:55 AM »
HI Folks

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to locate unstaked claims on the MTO Online website. The last thing that I want to do is jump someone''s claim.
Is there anyone out there that can guide me through this process.

Thank you
Stephen

https://www.mtonline.gov.bc.ca/mtov/home.do

At the bottom there's a button called "Placer Map".

Click that and it will open a new window that shows all current claims. You can navigate to the area you're interested in and see if there's any open ground.
Claimed ground is pink, open ground is white. You can use the "i" button at the top left and select any cell and get all the info about it's status and availability.

If you're interested in mineral claims, you can select the mineral map and it has the same functionality. I would recommend checking both maps for the area you're interested in.

HI CLHaddon  <-wave->

You mention....... "At the bottom there's a button called "Placer Map".
There are two sets of buttons labeled Placer Map....
one is green and one is blue. I can only access the green button.
Every cell that I see is pink which means it is staked. Is it possible that there are no unstaked claims?

Do I have to have a BCeID to see unstaked claims?

The green buttons are what you want to use. If it's pink it's staked, having a BCeID or FMC won't change the status of the claims.
If you're really interested in panning on staked ground you can try to contact the claim owner for permission or wait for a cell to come available and pick it up.
