Your Gold From a Recent Day (Placer or Hard Rock)
« on: October 18, 2018, 09:47:38 PM »
This was the gold I got today from somewhere west of Chilliwack.

Go ahead and post a picture of your gold if you want!

FYI - the phone camera optics tend to exagerrate, there really isn't that much gold in that pan. A fun day nonetheless!

It's not the gold that's important. It's the thrill of the adventure.

Not a bad haul though, especially west of Chilliwack.

Today's results from the same spot somewhere west of Chilliwack.

Material was classified to 1/2 inch with a thrift store wire cooling rack clamped over a bucket (much faster than using a standard classifier).

Panned 4 buckets of material and got more gold than I expected for a 2 hour session.

Small nugget pulled out in my second bucket. Not common, but they are there! Weighed out at 1.465 grams.

Hi.Suave you have the best claim on the Coq.It was Larrys favourite.Actually rock crusher has the best right above you .He has the mouth of Sowuaqwa. He just does not work it even though he owns the property. Here is a little story told to me by a retired logger/prospector.This took place in the 1960s and there wore no claims on the area at the time.Nothing but the pipelines and some very rough logging roads.Well a local logger prospector found some nice gold and decided to go mining,He took in a old rubber tired back hoe and a sluice box and went to work.He worked all summer before getting caught. He took over 60,000.00 in gold and only got a slap on the wrist and kept the gold.Nobody had a clue as to what he found. When I asked him who it was he just smiled.and flashed asolid gold wrist ban at me.I have talked to a few other prospectors that all say the same thing all the big gold coming down to the Coq.Comes out of sowaqwa.Hang onto that claim,Luck Mcbain.
I started out with nothing Istill have most of it.
