« on: February 07, 2018, 04:05:12 PM »
Hello everyone, I live in Vancouver and I'd like to try looking for some gold too. Already bought some prospecting equipment and I'd like to find a partner to go find gold with. I'm totally new to this, so be patient with me.
Contact me if you live close by, thanks.

<-wave->  and Welcome to the Forum

If you are just starting out I suggest you visit one of the Reserves like Hope or Yale, (Gold Pan, Shovel, Bucket and classifier only.

Take a small plastic tub with you to pan in as the current is strong and will wash out your gold.

Don't forget to condition your plastic pans, they leach oils, wash with hot water and detergent a couple of times, then rub with sand at the river. Should be good to go now.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice Top Cat. I already got the Flowpan, will get a shovel and some rubber boots too. I'm here mainly to find a partner to work with, don't know the area outside the city or how to get there.

Hey guys, I'm planing to go to Transylvania this spring/summer looking for gold. It's home to the largest gold deposit in continental Europe. Here's more info on the area and its gold:

If anyone wants to join me for an adventure, let me know. I do speak the local language and it can be pretty helpful. Also, I promise I'll keep you safe from vampires lol.

GENX140 what are the laws and regulations in this regard.                                                     Romania is a beautiful country and like you mentioned rich in mineral resources . To bad people of Romania couldn't take advantage of this.

From what I've read online, its quite corrupt and it takes a lot of paperwork to get a permit. Most people just do without. Think of it as the wild wild east  :D

Here in Canada if you are on a tourist visa if you like you can visit gold panning reserves and play with it legally , observing few simple rules.
What you mentioned das not sound promising. If one is out of luck might landed up in jail on many counts.

Here is an article about getting a license for prospecting in Romania.
http://m.jurnalul.ro/campaniile-jurnalul/descoperirea-romaniei-06/10-kilograme-de-avize-pentru-un-permis-16814.html
The title itself says you need 10 kg of papers for a permit.
So I'd say, if you're coming to prospect for a few weeks, don't bother with the permit. It's not like the cops are waiting for you by the creek. Unless you're a soy boy, then just stay home and watch tv lol.
