Whoever has original Gold Well sluices, let me know, we are looking for them to buy it. The larger the width the better. Let me know.

It is the one as explained on

Devon mats are interesting concept. I have given up on Gold Well sluices, they had some serious organizational issues, the patent was sold to somebody, production did not start, expenses are high, makes no sense for my operations in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya.

The concept I have is that simple drilling into the thick alluminum plate is going to provide good recovery. That is least expensive, I will show on pictures how it is done, as soon as possible. We will test it.

The CNC design of those Gold Well sluices or Devon Mats is in my opinion just a sales pitch. Water is making vortex automatically just in any type of the hole. And I can bet that those directions for water to create the vortex, like in Gold Well sluice or Devon Mats are not really going to direct the water, just observe. Does water really move into direction as specified? And if not, what is the point of that design?

So simple drilling of the alluminum sheets is going to make nice mat-less recovery sluice, I will make it and show it on pictures.

We are making the concept sluice from alluminum 2 cm x 250 cm x 125 cm. It will be sliced, as alluminum is actually very heavy, especially if one would like to have better capacity, wider sluice or similar.

See the concept on this picture. That shall be zero mat sluice. Simply make alluminum plates, drill holes of 3 cm with some spacing of 1 mm between holes in a row, and 3 cm between the rows of the holes. Multiple plates with such holes can be made in metal workshop and welded onto alluminum. Finished.

Alternative would be to take wooden plates, and drill the wood, as that is way cheaper than alluminum, and can be easily mounted without welding. It should be also lighter.

We will make the zero mat sluice concept soon, and test it if it is capturing fine gold, I bet it does.

No need for complex CNC "spirals" as no water has its forces, we cannot cause vortexes to move right side, or left side, every blind hole is to cause the vortex automatically.

Gold Well sluice does not work for production, we have run a day production on a plate and it wear down 50%

Alright. But this is not Gold Well sluice. This is zero mat blind hole sluice.

Your information is missing some facts. It is indication. It would be helpful if you say what type of material did you process, what groups of particles sizes were present, was it much other heavy minerals or not, what shapes of particles were processed?

There are such reports from other people with good indications, so it is worth trying out. It is sluice that just need to be turned around to clean the black sand. It should be durable for years basically. So it is worth doing the experiment.

You could cut some weight by using thinner aluminum, drilling all the way through and glue a thin, solid rubber sheet to the bottom of the plate.

You could drill the holes at an angle with this type bit

on some plates to give the gold varying type vortexs to get sucked into.

Yes, thank you. I agree on that.

In the manufacture in developed country, I need to think in simple manner, so special bits will not be found in rural areas of East Africa. Even the alluminum plate is hard to find.

Now when we know the weight of alluminum, it looks like this type of sluice is pretty heavy, robust, but heavy. It is worth the experiment, we will see later how it works.

I understand about not being able to get a bit like this in your local area but they can be ordered online and are pretty cheap, around $10 usd.
