Hi there!
I know this is an old topic, but I have 4 Geiger counters and have prospected for uranium and collect uranium minerals. I'm new to Canada, so I couldn't tell by looking, but yellow is often a good sign. I lived in Utah, where uranium is abundant and also traveled to New Mexico and still have all of these rocks that I need help identifying the secondaries on. I'm on Ootsa Lake, but if you'd ever like to go rock hounding for uranium, I'd love to as well.

I am in Ontario and will be in BC in July.   There are quite a few old mines with radioactives in Ontario.  They are great places to collect associated crystals.  I have a machine that I bought used and had calibrated by UofT that works really well for finding the hot spots.

FYI - my device is a GR-135 Radioactive Isotope Identification Device (RID).   A professional detecto, that I should use more.  ;-)
