first time for mechanical next summer. I want to do 2-3 pit- trenches. Did hand pits to about 10 ft down but not safe by hand to go deeper to  bedrock .So want to get contractor in to do excavation. What is best terminology for MTO application do I call them test pits or ?

Hi.Heavy metal yes you can call themtest pits but they are going to want to see a plan/map of test pits and settling ponds.Nothing easy luck Mcbain.
I started out with nothing Istill have most of it.
