New Rocks-
« on: November 19, 2015, 07:32:18 PM »
While visiting some family last week, my aunt gifted me her rock collection. Also some books and a rock tumbler. I felt like I won the lottery that night! What a super gift!

Hey SP, nice collection. I especially like the 9th one in this series - with the white swirl. Is that pyrite just before that?

That is nearly true mcbain! Nearly true!

Thanks so much OreHunter! It was like Xmas morning. I was excited just to look at the rocks, but when my aunt gave them to me I was floored!

Hi Kcm! Yes, it's a beaut that 9th one! I think it's chalcedony of some kind. Yes, you're are bang-on right, that shiny one is pyrite.

Good plan, paradigmshift! It's tricky finding spots for my rocks... I like to look at them when I putter around the house. Someone suggested I store them in a box, GASP, how rude! I like them out in the open so I can pick them up, study them etc. It's ridiculous. I need to win the lottery so I can buy a giant house for all my rocks...

Thanks Ryan and Easy_C for checking out my new rocks.
