I have a pooptube highbanker I use, its cheesey but works and can process quickly with some loss,but not a great deal.
I want to build a poop-tube high banker.I need some help on building this item.I want to use a 4 foot long piece of poop-tube(unperverated weeping tile),a piece of pvc pipe cut in half,thats what I put the poop tube into.Could anyone suggest a frame idea and a grizzly.I want to make it light weight unlike the setup I have now.The setup in the picture has a self feeder,I want a grizzly type setup you can shovel into. I know it takes a great deal of angle to get the poop-tube to work right,I use a 900gph pump for the one in the pic.It can run forever with a 12volt battery source,I have used a rv battery for at least 10 hours before recharge.I think a guy could make a real cheap,easy to clean,light weight unit with poop-tubes,you have 2 sluice inserts when you make it,for easy cleanup.Any thoughts.

Don't know about the grizzly - can this highbanker process shovelfulls of material that fast?
The stand could be as simple as four aluminum posts (legs)through 4 mounts. The 'legs' slide in the mounts and are tightened with a large wing-nut. Have seen this on river boxes - it works great.
An idea for your battery - just bought a double set of solar battery chargers (trickle) at Costco - might work for charging in the bush - $40.

You might be able to use a 5gal bucket? Cut a hole in the bottom of the bucket adjacent to the side. You might even be able to find fittings to attached the tube? For the grizzly, look no farther than replacement parts for a outdoor grill, the spacing might just be right? Cut out the top side of the bucket for access, mounting the grill at the proper angle so large rocks will fall outside. Just a thought!

Great idea... I have a "backpack grizzly", placed over the 5 gal bucket at an angle works pretty well but so far I haven't figured out the backpack version of the poop tube sluice.
I agree with the gotta be light but still be able to work material by the shovel full... fine line between greed and desire!

Thanks for all the input guys,I think this will help devolpe a cheap and efficent highbanker.In stream sluicing is not allowed in British Columbia.So if this can be made light and portable it would be a great started tool that everybody could make/afford.I like the bucket Idea.I scored a piece of electric cable tray from work(have to post a picture of the type of junk that gets thrown out).This will be used for the classfier.Not sure if the spacing is too large,if so I will make a dsh to the recycle place for a fridge rack or bbq grill.

I realize that this is an old post but the fertile mind of lsfog is in hi gear this morning...
Concider a "square" plastic pail as your hibanker tray.
Dog treats - kitty litter - are a couple of products that use the square pails I'm thinking about.
So square pail on an angle -- picture Shreddies cerial and the new adds for their "diamond" shreddies!!!
A bit of creative sliceing with a razor knlfe -- your grizzley of choise slipped in -- a hole cut in the bottom of the V drains the sized material into your sluice of choise -- a set of PVC leg stands and it's done...
hummmm    another winter works project added to the list.
