I watched a marathon of these about a season worth then ready for Season 2.  All this other BS about the Solomon's Mine, Crazy Templar stories, Henry Sinclair, chasing ghosts, better to have some old fashioned pirate gold.  Coconut husks, Spanish coins, lots of evidence.  Let's see whats in the vault.
Gold is good.

Season 2, looks like these guys are determined to solve this mystery if at all possible.

I wish them luck and all that, but I wouldn't waste my time on Oak Island for obvious reasons....

OK, at the risk of sounding stupid... what obvious reasons?

I am not sure what he was referring to, but understand that pirates did not typically burry treasure.  They spent it or lost it in ship wrecks.

Yes would be nice to have this wrapped up. I'm still puzzled why they didn't simply dig a trench around the place
to find the channels that are bringing the water in and then block them off or better yet, use the oilfield cement
and simply pump it down filling in the channels back to the sea, let it set up and then mill it down :-)
that being said, I do enjoy watching the show

I agree.I have never for a moment thought that any "treasure" down there has the slightest thing to do with pirates. I think the pirate angle is just a cover. Nobody has ever explained how / why a pirate would acquire the knowledge and skills to build the money pit with all its clues and traps. I don't recall reading the pirates were the thinkers of the day. More likely that if any treasure really is in the money pit it is the work of people like the Mason's who did have the ability to construct something as elaborate as the money pit. IMHO

I wonder if any pirates were also Freemasons? Or freemasons that were part time  pirates?

Google "Illuminati Oak Island" and you will read all about the theory of The Knights Templar ... and Oak Island being where they hid The Holy Grail.  Not saying I believe - just a tangent on the Freemason idea.
