Title: Checking some tiny creeks
Post by: upnorth on November 29, 2019, 12:55:26 PM
Spent the last week walking up small valleys, looking for oldtimer workings. Did not find any yet. With a north east wind blowing almost 90 kilometers, it is not bad in the trees. Good to get out  walking tho. Went to chilliwack on black Friday...Crowds, crazy, back to the bush   <-yahoo_>

I haven't picked a (full time) place yet.  I like Hope the best. Yale comes in second.  I  have a feeling I will head back to Yukon this spring, then back to lower Fraser next winter. Not too sure yet, that's freedom I guess.

Walking around in standing timber during high winds can be very dangerous, having spent time working in the bush, I can attest to the fact. Be careful, or get out. You don`t hear them until they hit the ground usually. Just a helpful hint.

Thanks,. You are very right I wasn't thinking about that. Also I was lucky that a tree or two didn't fall down on the road, blocking me in.

Went back this morning to see if there was any wind damage, none. Passed 3 atv guys hunting I guess . The shorelines in places on the fraser  have 4 ft deep of
new sandbars. Very easy walking. I would imagine with the spring run off they will disappear. This sand must be from the landslides, my guess.
