Title: Finally Retired!
Post by: Tolly26 on June 27, 2007, 06:23:49 PM
Hello All - glad I found this forum and looking forward to working with everyone at CPF!

The name is Don and I am now 6 months into early retirement and looking forward to washing some of the Queen's gravel here on Vancouver Island.  I graduated from Mining and Mineral Process Engineering from UBC in the late 80's (mature student) then immediately went to work for Electrical Engineers doing Pulp & Paper Mills for a few years - (if you see the connection please explain it to me sometime!).  Never got around to registering with APEGBC and spent the last decade or so in IT so, needless to say, everything I learned at school is either outdated or forgotten.

I'll make a long story short by stopping now - glad to be aboard!

Hi Don,

Welcome, and very pleased you are with us.  And that you can now focus on chasing after the ever elusive.  I don't think its color or hiding spots have changed since you've schooled in the arts, so all the best to you.  Looking forward to more posts from you and the other guys and gals.

Keep us updated with your world...

<-yahoo_>   Hubby will be retiring "sometime this year".   We can Finally move back to B.C.   Been the longest 7 yrs out here ever.  We hope to move to the Oliver area, and have had it in the back of our minds for a long time to go rock hounding, and try gold panning.  But sure don't want to go on someone's claim.  How do you know if you are on someone else's claim?   Also how and where can you stake a little claim. ?     Since we have NO idea about this stuff, we sure would like to know where to get answers from.

Thank you hope to get some answers, please.   <-yes_>
